Ingredients

  • Hint of lemon adds zest.
  • 1/2 leg of American lamb, sirloin end, about 4 1/2 lbs.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. ketchup

Directions

Place lamb, fat side up in shallow roasting pan. Sprinkle with salt, thyme and lemon pepper. Rub seasonings into lamb surface.

In small bowl, stir together corn syrup, red wine vinegar and ketchup until smooth. Use the mixture to baste lamb last 30 minutes of roasting. Roast lamb in preheated 325 degree F. oven 20 minutes per pound or until meat thermometer registers 140 degrees F. for rare or 150 degrees F. for medium-rare. Serves 4 to 6.
