Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 1 large egg, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

Cut chicken into 1 x 2" slices. Salt lightly. Combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Dip chicken in this batter and drop into deep hot fat. Cook until golden brown. Drain and serve at once with sweet & sour sauce.

Best prepared immediately before serving. If not possible, may be fried to a very light brown, refrigerated, and fried again just before serving. Or, thay may be reheated in shallow pan in 350 oven for 5-10 minutes.
