Nina's Corn Bread Recipe

  American Bread

1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
buttermilk - about 1 cup

Put dry ingredients in bowl add egg and enough buttermilk to make a batter about like cake dough. Stir well and pour into a well greased 6 inch Iron skillet.

Bake at 450 for 15 minutes or until well browned and done. - No sugar if you are from the South!

This is my 86 yr. old Arkansas mothers recipe who has been making this for at least 70 yrs. It's GOOD
