Holiday Mint and Crab Slabs Appetizer ----
Presented in tandem, this combination adds festive color to a Christmas buffet. The mint slab by itself is great for a St. Patrick's Day celebration, while the crab slab is just right for Valentines's Day.
Honey Glazed Ham Pork ----
Ambrosia Salad American
NOTE: All ingredients are approximate, a little more or less will not hurt the out outcome. The sour cream should be enough to make everything moist. You may want to add more just before serving. Makes a nice holiday dish because you can make it ahead of time

After Thanksgiving Soup Soup American
This soup is unforgiving....it is very easy to make. You can omit the barley & rice & turkey and just thicken with cream of wheat and add sliced pieces of ring sausage...also very delicious. The day after Thanksgiving, I usually put the carcass in the freezer in a kitchen trash bag. And when we are tired of eating leftovers, 2-3 days later, I put the leftovers in the bag too. Then, several weeks later....make a big batch of soup.....ymmmm...enjoy
Holiday Eggnog Cheesecake Cheesecake ----
Pepper Crusted Fillet of Beef with Beaujolais Jelly Beef American
For a holiday dinner, looks very nice served on a bed of fresh rosemary and garnished with spiced crab apples. I can post the recipe for beaujolais jelly and a list of suggested accompaniments if there is any interest.
Holiday Rib Eye Roast Beef ----
Holiday Baked Ham Pork ----
Potica Bread ----
(Note: My mother had 12 children and streamlined the recipe from her mother back in the 30's to accomodate her busy holiday schedule, most especially deleting the cooking requirement for the nut mixture. Most of her 12 children continue to make this potica on Christmas Eve.) Enjoy
Bread machine sticky buns Bread ----
I had excellent results on my first try. The next time I make them, I'll probably try a sweeter dough recipe. If you live near a mall, I highly suggest going to a Cinnabon store and watching them for a few minutes make their buns and you'll see how easy it is.
Broccoli-Rice Casserole Vegetable American
Don't wait just for Holidays!
Chicken Pot Pie - Easy! Stew American
Easy and always a hit. It's great for leftover turkey after holidays.
Chicken Pot Pie (17th Century) Chicken ----
Early cookbooks reveal that chicken pie was every bit as popular as roasted turkey for the prinicipal entree at Thanksgiving dinner. Al- though it's hard to believe, some familes even served both. This recipe, with its bizarre inclusion of prunes and currants, nutmeg and cinnamon, has been developed from a very early recipe. Do not be put off by the fruit and spices. Their presence is unobtrusive and they enhance what can be a very pedestrian sauce, turning it into a magnificent, if mysterious, backdrop for the chicken.
HOLIDAY FLOURLESS FRUIT CAKE Cakes ----
HOLIDAY POPCORN CAKE Cakes ----
NOTE: This popcorn cake is great for any holiday! Many colors and types of season candies are available (candy corn etc.) You may wish to use coconut, raisins, or granola in place of or in addition to the nuts.
