Title: wasserspatzen
Type: Cookie
Description: From my father's side of the family (German/Austrian), there was a recipe (now lost) for wasserspa(t)zer -- a german cookie. I remember a ribbon of pastry dough, sprinkled with finely-chopped walnuts and (maybe) white sugar. As much German as I don't know, wasser spatzen (pronounced with a "v") is (maybe) water-bird. Any suggestions? We only had these cookies during the winter holidays! Many thanks in advance!
