Ingredients:

  • 1 pound brown sugar
  • 4oz butter
  • juice of one lemon

Directions:
Heat the sugar in a saucepan until it melts. Cream the butter and slowly add it to the sugar. Continue heating and stirring until a little of the mixture hardens when dropped into cold water. Add the lemon juice. Beat quickly with a fork. Pour into a buttered tin and mark into squares. Break into pieces when cold
