Ingredients:

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 quart water
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
  • 4 whole allspice
  • 3 cups orange juice
  • 2 cups lemon juice
  • 2 quarts apple cider

Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil; boil 10 minutes, to make a sugar syrup. Remove from heat.

Add cloves, cinnamon sticks, ginger and allspice to sugar syrup. Let syrup mixture stand, covered, in a warm place for 1 hour.

Strain, discarding spices. Add orange juice, lemon juice and cider to strained syrup. Bring quickly to the boiling point. Serve immediately
