Ingredients:

  • 1 (20 oz.) can apple pie filling
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 (18 oz.) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • Frosting:
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 lb. butter(1/2 cup)
  • 1/3 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 Tablespoon grated dry orange peel(less, if fresh)
  • 3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In blender combine pie filling, eggs, apple pie spice and cloves until smooth. Place in large bowl and add cake mix. Beat 4-5 minutes. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour into greased 9x13-inch pan and bake for 55 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool 30 minutes on rack. Frost cake. Serves 12-16.

Frosting: Combine all ingredients. Beat until creamy and of spreading consistency.
