Date Cookies Recipe

Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well; add soda dissolved in water. Sift flour with spices and add dates and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 11 to 15 minutes or until light golden in color. Remove from oven and let cool a few minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
