Ingredients:

  • Dough
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk or half & half
  • Hamburger Mixture
  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Mix flour, salt, egg and milk in bowl. Let dough rest. Mix hamburger, onions, salt and pepper. On lightly floured surface, roll out a piece of dough (size of a large fist) into a circle @ 1/4" thick. Spread thin layer of hamburger on half of the dough, leaving plenty of room along the edges. Fold dough over hamburger. Seal by cutting dough with a plate into a crescent shape 1" or more from hamburger. Pinch shut any openings in the seal, using water if neccesary. Deep fry or pan fry in oil until golden brown on both sides. Lay on paper towel lined plate to remove excess oil. Poke a small hole in dough for any liquid to drain. Typically eaten by cutting in half with a squirt of ketchup inside.
