Crab Cakes And Cream Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Crab Cakes
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup onion(chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups crab meat
  • 1-1/2 cups dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg(beaten)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Directions:
Crab Cakes: Saute onion in 1/4 cup margarine until tender. Stir in flour until thoroughly blended. Gradually add milk, salt and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until mixture thickens. Add crab meat and 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Chill mixture 1-2 hours. Roll into small patties. Combine egg and water. Dip crab cakes in mixture. Dredge in remaining bread crumbs. Pan fry in 1/2 cup margarine, turning only once.

Sauce: Combine all ingredients. Whisk to blend. Chill.

Serve over hot crab cakes.

Serves 4.
