Liz's spaghetti sauce Recipe

  Italian Beef

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons shortening (I don't add)
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 (2 1/2 ounce) package of Chef Boyardee
sauce mix
1 tablespoon chili powder (I use less)
1/2 teaspoon red pepper and cayenne
1/2 teasponn garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1 1/2 tespoons oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 (16 oz) cans stewed tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomatoe sauce

Directions:
Brown ground beef and onions in shortening. Drain off excess shortening. Add spaghetti mix, chili powder, red pepper, cayenne, garlic salt, onion salt, oregano, salt, pepper, stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and simmer from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Stir often to prevent sticking. Add a little water if becomes too thick. Serve over long spaghetti cooked to directions on package. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, if desired.
Serves 6.
[This recipe is spicy hot if all the pepper and chili powder is added. I cut down the amount since my family does not like it too HOT.]
