Ingredients

  • 25 grams butter
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp boiling water
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • (The Australian measuring cup is 125 mils and the tablespoon is 4 US tsps)

Directions

Melt butter and golden syrup in a saucepan and add the baking soda dissolved in the boiling water. Combine dry ingredients, pour over the melted mixture and mix well. Place teaspoons of mixture on greased trays allowing room for spreading. Bake in a moderately slow oven for about 15 minutes or until golden. Cool for a few minutes on tray before removing to a rack to cool completely.
