Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. country-style ribs
  • 1 tsp each black pepper, onion powder, parsley flakes, celery seed, cayenne
  • Sauce:
  • 1 c. cider or red wine vinegar
  • 1 c. fresh lemon juice, seeded
  • 1/2 c. liquid smoke
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 c. finely chopped onion
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 quart water

Directions

Combine dry seasonings and rub over ribs. Place in container or plastic bag and marinate overnight. Prepare sauce by mixing all ingredients in large sauce pan. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 to 10 minutes.

Bring charcoal to temperature, using well soaked hickory chips. Broil, basting frequently with sauce until done. Serve extra sauce with ribs.
