Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Dash salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup butter OR oil OR margarine
  • 1 tsp almond flavoring
  • 2 cups sliced peaches-fresh, frozen or canned

Directions:
Combine the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk to create a batter. In a deep pie dish or similar sized casserole (cobbler will be baked in this dish) melt butter; pour the batter into the middle of the melted butter. DO NOT STIR. Mix 1 cup sugar, almond flavoring in a separate bowl; add peaches and coat with sugar. Pour into middle of batter. DO NOT STIR. Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 1 hour.

Yields 6 servings.
