I think once you try it you'll make it again.

Ingredients

  • 1 head Romain Lettuce shredded (like you
  • use for taco's).
  • 1 banana sliced
  • 1 orange cut in sections remove all white, or orange can be bitter.
  • 8 strawberries cut in half
  • Pineapple chunks, fresh or canned
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 c orange juice
  • 1 c low fat mayonaise
  • 10 grapes red cut in half
  • 1 green onion sliced
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon,nutmeg 1/4 of each one

Directions

This is very easy and was delicious. Serve in a pretty platter. Take the shredded lettuce and make a bed of lettuce on your platter then add each fruit, being careful to arrange in a nice design. For example: Sliced grapes then banana slices orange sections and strawberries then pineapple chunks. If oranges are not available in your area then you can use Manderin oranges in the can. If the fruits are not something you're family won't eat substitute your fruit.

I once had a guest who couldn't eat strawberries So I used watermelon instead of strawberries.

The 1 tsp of sugar is used to sweeten the fruit. If fruit is already sweet you can eliminate the sugar. After you have arranged your platter then comes the dressing.

Just before serving I add the green onions, cinnamon and nutmeg mixture.

Dressing:
Mix your low fat mayonnaise with your orange juice. Mix well and pour over your fresh fruit salad. Then add the onions and cinnamon and nutmeg. This is very pretty and delicious.
