Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
  • 3/4 tsp. Chinese 5-spice powder
  • 1 clove garlic,minced
  • 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 21/2 lbs boneless pork tenderloin
  • Hot mustard
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Directions

I know of no reason why you couldn't marinade this for 36 hrs. even though it does not specifically call for it.

Mix together the first 8 ingredients to make a marinade.

Cut the pork lengthwise into 21/2x2x7 inch strips. Marinate the pork strips at least overnight in the refrigerator.

When ready to cook, make a charcoal fire and let it burn for 20 minutes. Separate coals, pushing half to the left and half to the right. Place pork strips on grill rack exactly in the center. Close hood of BBQ and cook slowly with the coals always off to the side, not directly underneath.

Allow to cool. Cut into 1/4-inch slices. Serve with hot mustard and toasted sesame seeds.
