Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup minus 2 Tbsps. lukewarm water
  • 2 Tbsps. frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 3 Tbsps. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps. dry milk
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine or butter, softened
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsps. fast-rising yeast
  • Glaze(recipe follows)
  • 1.5 lb. loaf

  • 1 1/4 tsps. salt
  • 2 tsps. fast-rising yeast
  • Glaze(recipe follows)

Directions

Measure ingredients exactly and place in bread machine in order manufacturer suggests. Select regular or rapid bake cycle. Do not use delayed cycle for this recipe. Spoon glaze over cooled loaf, if desired.

A 1 lb. loaf makes 16 one-ounce servings each with 96 calories, 1 g fat and 16 mg cholesterol. A 1.5 lb. loaf makes 24 servings.

*Cook's Tip: One-half of a large egg is equal to about 2 tablespoons.

Glaze

1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

3/4 -1 tsp. orange juice

In a small bowl, mix juice with confectioners' sugar; drizzle over cooled loaf.
