• 2 lb. shrimp or lobster, raw, shelled and cleaned
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 hot pepper, seeded and halved
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 28-oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup red or white wine
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Melt butter in olive oil; saute garlic and onion until golden. Add tomatoes; mix well. Add remaining ingreients except seafood, and mix well. Simmer 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf and hot pepper halves. Add shrimp/and/or/lobster. Simmer 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Cook pasta (your choice) according to directions. Drain and toss with part of sauce. Top with extra sauce and seafood and serve immediately with garted cheese on the side.
