• 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup of pine nuts
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • A couple turns of fresh ground pepper from pepper mill
  • 4 TSBP butter


Saute pine nuts in butter in a sauce pan until golden, stirring constantly so they do not burn. When niuts are golden, add rice, water, butter, cinnamon stick and allspice and black pepper. Cook on high until water boils. Then turn down to a simmer and cook an additional 20 minutes. Stir and serve. Serves 2 (in my house)
