Ingredients

  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. water
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. regular, uncooked oats
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

Simmer raisins and water over med. heat till raisins are plump, about 15 min. drain, reserve liquid and add enough water to measure 1/2 c. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla; stir in reserved liquid. Blend in the remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 for 8-10 min or till light brown.
