Cavacas Recipe

  Portuguese Dessert

    




Ingredients:
1 cup of oil
1 cup of flour
6 eggs

1 cup of icing sugar
1 egg white

Directions:
Mix the oil and flour together well. Beat in 1 egg at a time well for 20 minutes. Grease muffin tins. Pour and fill 1/2-3/4 full. Makes 2-3 dozen. Bake in preheated oven 450 until they fully rise. Reduce heat to 400 and bake until golden (approx 20 minutes)

Prepare icing by mixing fluffy egg white with with icing sugar. Ice while still warm.

This recipe is from my brazilian friend's mother. They are a family favorite. Absolutely delicious. In my research, I have found them translated as Portugese Pop Overs.
