Tisanes (pronounced tih ZAHNS) are more commonly referred to as herbal and floral teas. Steeped in boiling water like their more stimulating counterparts of black and green teas, herbal teas are different in that they offer subtle calming and rejuvenating qualities.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unfiltered apple juice
  • 2 c. mango, papaya or peach nectar
  • 2 c. filtered hot water
  • 4 bags almond sunset
  • 1 bag Mandarin Spice Tea
  • 2 cinnamon sticks or 2 whole star anise
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel saucepan and heat over low flame for 20 minutes until flavors meld.


Yield: 8 servings 18 calories per T, 1 g car carbohydrate, 1 g protein, 1 g fat, 0.2 g fiber, 0 mg cholesterol, 202 mg sodium
