I usually do this with any leftover pie crust when making pies. I have never tried it, but I would imagine you could use most any fruit preserve to spread on crust before rolling, slicing and baking.

Ingredients

  • Pie Crust
  • butter
  • cinnamon
  • sugar

Directions

My mom always rolled out pie crust, brushed liberally with butter, then sprinkled with lots of cinnamon and sugar. Roll up (jelly roll fashion) and slice abput 1/2" thick. Stand slices in pan and bake at 400 degrees (or temperature you are using to bake pie) and bake about 10 minutes, or until light golden brown. Bottoms with be darker than the rest of the pastry. Caution: filling is extremely sticky and hot - allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
