Sirloin with Blue Ribbon Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. beef sirloin steak, cut about 1 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 cups thinly sliced onions
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tblsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tblsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 can (6 oz.) cocktail vegetable juice

Directions:
1. Brown steak on both sides in a small amount of fat in a large skillet with a heat-resistant handle. Remove from heat; season with salt.
2. Arrange onion and lemon slices to cover meat.
3. Cream butter and mustard together; blend in the chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder. Spread mixture over onion and lemon. Pour cocktail vegetable juice into skillet.
4. Bake at 350 F. 20 to 30 minutes, or until meat is medium rare or well done.
About 6 servings.
