Ingredients
- 6 to 8 medium-sized potatoes, pared, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Thyme or Rosemary to taste
Directions
Dry potato slices thoroughly with absorbent paper. Arrange even layers of potatoes in a buttered 2-qt. baking dish; overlap slices about 1/4 inch. Sprinkle each layer with a mixture of salt and pepper and with desired amount of thyme or rosemary. Dot with some of the butter. Bake at 425 degrees 40 to 60 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and golden brown. To remove from dish for serving, run a spatula around the edge to loosen. Invert onto warm serving plate. 6 to 8 servings.
