Irish Soda Bread 1 Recipe

4 cups flour
3/4 ts salt
1 ts baking soda
2 T brown sugar or honey
1 T wheat germ
2 c buttermilk (divided)

Mix dry ingredients (with exception of baking soda), stir soda into one of the cups of buttermilk. Add to dry ingredients along with lightly beaten egg and the other cup of buttermilk. Mix as usual, and bake for 1-1/4 hours.
