Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large, very ripe bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsps. cooking oil or melted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mash the bananas well. Beat the egg, sugar and oil together. Stir into the mashed bananas and beat well. Mix the dry ingredients together and add them to the batter. Mix well. Pour into a greased 9 inch x 5 inch x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan and bake for about 1 hours, or until a testing needle comes out clean. This freezes very well and tastes even better after being frozen.

Serve chilled, thinly sliced, with butter.


Nuts or raisins may be added; it can even be made into muffins.
