Baked Stuffed Trout Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb. trout
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 c. bread crumbs
  • 2 onions, minced
  • 1 green pepper, minced
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. dill seed
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1 c. chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • Paprika

Directions:
Thoroughly clean fish, slit fish open as much as possible toward the tail. Sprinkle inside and out with salt, pepper and dill weed. Mix bread crumbs and all other ingredients together. Fill the cavity of the fish with this mixture and close with skewers or toothpicks. Line a hollow pan or baking sheet with greased foil, place fish on it, place the remaining filling around fish. Slice lemon and lay across fish. Sprinkle dill weed and paprika over fish. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 45 minutes. Baste once or twice with pan juice. Fish is done when it comes flaky.
