These are easy to make and they're delicious. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups allpurpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons shortening
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 package of dry yeast
  • 3 teaspoons sugar

Directions

Place yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar in small bowl. Mix in 1/4 cup warm water. {This water should be the same temperature that you wash your hands with.} Put aside. Within 5 minutes, it will become foamy.
Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine flour, baking powder 2 teaspoons of sugar and salt. Add shortening and with a fork or pastry cutter, cut in shortening. This means, just press together flour mixture and shortening until crumbly. Mix in warm milk and yeast mixture, just until flour is all damp. Put dough out onto floured surface and knead about 10 times or until dough is smooth. Roll dough out, til about 1/2 inch thick, cut with round cutter and place on cookie sheet. Let rise for about 1/2 hour or until biscuits are puffy. Bake in 400 degree oven, for 10 to 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
