Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Ginger Root
  • 1 Medium Yellow Onion, Minced
  • 1 Cup Red Lentils
  • 3 Cups Water (Or Vegetable Broth)
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric
  • 2 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 1 Cup Of Rice, Cooked
  • Sea Salt Or Morton's Natural Seasoning To Taste

Directions

Sauti the garlic, ginger and onion in oil until tender. Add all remaining ingredients except rice and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Add rice and adjust seasoning to your own taste. Enjoy as a side dish or main meal.
Note: If you have a favorite curry powder, then substitute for the turmeric and cumin.
