Bechamel Recipe

  Italian Sauces

    




Ingredients:
1 tbls. ea. chopped garlic, onion, butter, flour, 1 cup milk, salt, white pepper, nutmeg and parmesean cheese optional.

Directions:
saute garlic and onions in butter until soft and light golden, add flour and simmer for a few minutes, add salt and pepper to taste, for lasagna add cheese and nutmeg optional. Can sub. half and half or heavy cream for richer sauce. Keep thin not too thick thin with mild.

Makes about One and a half cups, good for small lasagna
Could mix with marinara sauce for pink sauce, good on pasta
