Ingredients:

  • 1-lb. pound-cake (store-bought or homemade), cut into 1" cubes
  • 2 containers of instant vanilla pudding/pie filling, prepared as directed on box for pie-filling
  • 1 - 2 pints of strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced
  • 1 16-oz. container of whipped cream
  • 1 cup mini morsel chocolate chips

Directions:
Layer ingredients in a clear glass container. Layer cake (enough to cover bottom of bowl, not necessarily 1/2), then approximately 1/2 of the pudding/pie filling, 1/2 of the strawberries, and slightly less than 1/2 of the whipped cream. Sprinkle on 1/2 of the chocolate chips. Then place another layer of cake (you may have cake left over, cook's treat!), remainder of the pudding/pie filling, remaining strawberries and remaining whipped cream, making sure whipped cream is spread to edges of container. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over trifle. Trifle can be served as is, but tastes better when allowed to sit in refrigerator for 1-2 hours to allow flavors to combine.
