Ingredients:

  • 1/2 - 1 pound bulk sausage, hot or mild (I like Jimmy Dean Sage flavored)
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups evaporated milk or half and half
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:
Saute the sausage in a deep skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. (In restaurants, they would probably use just a half pound.) Stir in flour; cook stirring for about 1 minute. Combine water and evaporated milk or cream. Gradually stir into skillet. Cook and stir until very thick. Season to taste with salt and pepper. If mixture becomes too thick, thin with a little milk. Enough for 6 - 8 biscuits
