Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 TBS instant minced onion or 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp leaf basil
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 TBS oil or shortening
  • 1 cup (4oz.) sliced fresh mushrooms (you can use a 4 oz. can of mushrooms for the fresh if you desire)
  • 2 TBS butter or margarine
  • 1 package (5/8 oz.) Brown Gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of red wine

Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef with onion, salt ,basil, and pepper. Mix thoroughly. Shape into 4 patties. Brown in oil in large fry pan. In same pan, saute' mushrooms in butter, Add browned patties to mushrooms. Combine gravy mix, water and wine; add to patties. Cover: Simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 to 20 minutes until meat is done. Makes 4 servings.
