Ingredients:
  • Not sure if this is what you want, but hope it is.
  • 1/2 pound large unblemished Bing cherries
  • 1/2 pound granulated sugar
  • 2 cups vodka or brandy

Directions:
Wash and stem the cherries and place them on a towel to dry. Gently put the cherries into a 1-quart jar. Pour the sugar over the cherries. DO NOT STIR OR SHAKE. Pour the vodka or brandy over the sugar and the cherries. Do not stir. Cover tightly with a lid and put the jar on a high shelf. Let it stand for 3 months without stirring or shaking. Strain into a 1-quart bottle. The cherry meat will be dissolved. No sugar syrup is added, so the alcohol content will be high. The color is beautiful and the taste is divine. Yield: 2-1/2 to 3 cups.

Almost any other fresh fruit may be substituted in this recipe. Use apples, peaches, apricots, plums, peeled oranges, and tangerines.
