We usually serve with sliced cheese and crackers or hot bisquits

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • l large can tomato juice
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 2 cups lentils
  • 1 cup diced carrrots
  • 1tsp salt 1/2tsp pepper 1 tsp Accent
  • 1 cup dhopped celery
  • 11/2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp green pepper flakes

Directions

Cook hamburger until crumbly, drain off fat
Add tomato juice and water
Boil

Add the rest & boil
Simmer 11/2-2 hrs or until lentilsare tender
