Ingredients:
  • 2tsp liquid glucose
  • 2tsp gelatin
  • 2tblspns water
  • 8 tblspns icing sugar
  • Flavor
  • Color.

Directions:
Find a screw topped glass Jar. Heat glucose, gelatin and water in the jar, in microwave until the gelatin dissolves. Add 6tblspns sifted PURE icing sugar (NOT ICING SUGAR MIXTURE which contains cornflour), put on lid and shake until mixed. Let it set, and keep in the fridge. Take one spoonful of this mixture and add icing sugar till the paste is a consistency you want, this is the time to add color and flavor if desired. Only roll out a small quantity at a time as it will dry quickly to being very hard.

I have seen two different sorts of these candy conversation hearts. One of them is pretty much the above recipe. The other one I don't think I *want* to know its contents - I suspect that it is part sugar, part citric acid and part chalk! Good luck.
