More Danish Cookie Recipes
Ingredients:

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Set butter, buttermilk and eggs out to warm. Then mix sugar, butter, buttermilk, and egg and set aside. Blend dry ingredients. Then combine all ingredients. Add vanilla. Refrigerate overnight. Cut or roll into strips and form into figure eight. Bake at 375 degrees until brown on bottom, about 8 minutes, then put under broiler until tops are toasted; watch carefully. Remove from oven and cool. May add almond flavor, lemon flavor and poppy seed is good too.
