To make Mauna Loa Topping, add 2 Tablespoons flaked coconut and 1/8 teaspoon almond extract to the finished Pineapple topping.
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 (8-oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in crushed Pineapple with juice, water and lemon juice; add butter or margarine. Stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Simmer over low heat 2 minutes.
