Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Garlic

Directions

No offense, but WHY would you want to marinate salmon?
I live in the salmon capital of the world, spend Aug & Sept fishing for salmon; freeze, can and smoke/can salmon. The only way to cook fresh salmon or a frozen filet is on the grill. Do not put it in foil.

Start with the piece skin-side down on the hot grill. Watch the side edge of the piece of fish. When you see the fat (it will be white, kind of looks like mayonnaise) oozing out of the fish about half-way up the side, turn the piece over. Watch for the fat oozing out about half-way up the side edge again. And it is DONE. After a few times, you will get the hang of how long it should cook. None of this so-many-minutes-per-ounce stuff. And only turn it ONCE. When you take it off the grill, put it on a serving platter and pour over it a mixture of melted butter and garlic. Serve at once.
