Vanilla Glaze Recipe

1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 Tbs. light corn syrup
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, baking soda, buttermilk, light corn syrup and butter in a medium-sized saucepan. Heat slowly, stirring constantly, to boiling; then cook stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in 1 tsp vanilla.
