This sauce recipe was for Apple Dumplings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup butter OR regular margarine
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions
Heat together the water, vinegar, and butter or margarine. Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix thoroughly. Stir into hot mixture; cook over low heat, stirring until thickened. Pour warm over apple dumplings. Makes about 2 1/2 cups
