Many versions of "Singing Hinnies" appear in old farm house accounts and "kept" cook books.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pd. plain flour
- 2 oz. butter
- 2oz. lard
- 1 oz.currents 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp/ salt
- milk and sour cream'
Directions
Rub fat into flour,add any other ingredients,mix to a soft dough with a little milk and sour cream. Roll outand bake both sides on a hot grittle. In order to turn these without breaking into pieces, a pair of singing hands were used.
