Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. pork-loin country-style ribs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared white horseradish
  • 1 small onion, coarsely grated
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot-red-pepper sauce
  • Salad oil

Directions

1. Prepare outdoor grill for barbecue. Cut ribs into individual portions; place in a single layer on double thickness of heavy-duty aluminum foil large enough to fold over ribs. Sprinkle ribs with water; fold foil over ribs, drugstore fashion(see tip below). Using INDIRECT METHOD cook ribs 1 hour, or until tender.

2. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine remaining ingredients except salad oil. Set aside.

3. Remove foil packet from grill. Carefully open; remove ribs. Drain off fat. Lightly grease grill rack with salad oil. Using DIRECT METHOD, cook ribs 15 minutes, turning once and basting frequently with sauce, until lightly browned on both sides. Pass remaining sauce separately. Makes 6 servings.

Tip: To wrap food drugstore fashion, place in center of foil sheet large enough so that you can bring foil edges together and fold them over several times before reaching surface of food. To finish, join side edges, folding over several times to create an airtight package
