Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp-1 tsp clove
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee crystals
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs (1 usually use 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites)
  • 2 squares baking chocolate

Directions

Mix dry ingredients, set aside. Cream together sour cream, water, coffee and vanilla, set aside. Cream butter. Gradually ass sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Blend into melted chocolate. Add flour and sour cream mixtures alternately, beating after each addition until smooth. Pour into greased and floured 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool ten minutes in pan, then remoe to rack and finish cooling.
