Ingredients:

1/2# butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:

Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Add flour and dry ingredients. Add nuts reserving some for top. After mixing cake, add chocolate chips by hand and mix. Pour in pan and sprinkle remaining nuts on top and bake 1 hour at 350. When done, turn oven off, open door, leave in oven additional 15 minutes.

this uses chocolate chips, but you could easily swap them for m&m's instead
