NOTE: This popcorn cake is great for any holiday! Many colors and types of season candies are available (candy corn etc.) You may wish to use coconut, raisins, or granola in place of or in addition to the nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 8-10 quarts plain popped corn
  • 1 1/2 c. nuts (any variety)
  • 1 c. red and green M&M's® chocolate candies
  • 1 c. small red and green gumdrops

Directions

Bring margarine, corn syrup, and brown sugar to a boil in heavy saucepan. Boil mixture for one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over popcorn and stir well. Mix in candies and nuts. Press mixture into a bundt pan, angel food, or 9 x 13 inch pan. Allow to cool. Invert onto a serving plate. Slice and enjoy!.
