Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg
- Topping:
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup flaked coconut
- 1/4 cup finely chopped black walnuts or English walnuts
Directions
1. Mix all ingredients except Topping; beat vigorously 1 minute. Spread batter in greased baking pan, 13x9x2 inches. Sprinkle Topping over batter.
2. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm. Garnish with greens if desired.(For the Holidays)
Topping: Mix brown sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon; stir in coconut and walnuts
