Ingredients:

Another wartime recipe.
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup chopped nutmeats
1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
2 1/2 cups slightly crushed corn flakes

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Blend butter and sugars thoroughly. Add egg and beat well. Add nutmeats, coconut, and cornflakes. Mix well. Shape cookies, using a tablespoon and pressing filled spoon against side of bowl. Then drop lightly on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.
